UK funny man, Ricky Gervais, has come under fire from the American media after he hosted the Golden Globes for the second year in a row.

Last year saw Gervais roast the cream of the acting crop and get a truck-load of laughs in the process. This year brought much of the same but Hollywood stopped laughing.

With jokes aimed at Tom Cruise and Johnny Depp, before he introduced Robert Downey jnr by saying: "Many of you in this room probably know him best from such facilities as the Betty Ford Clinic and Los Angeles County Jail." Sadly Downey jnr didn’t see the funny side and bit back to the crowds delight. 

After introducing Bruce Willis as “Ashton Kutcher’s Dad”, Gervais then went onto call Hugh Heffner “the walking dead”. But not everyone thought Gervais’ hosting job was in poor taste.

The following day Heff tweeted, "The Golden Globes was a blast, he made fun of everyone, including Crystal & me. A great night."

Good to see the old man’s still got a sense of humor!
